When your parts arrive, we log and inspect every piece, then confirm the finish, color, and any masking up front. Nothing moves forward until we know exactly what the job needs.

Old paint, powder, Cerakote, rust, and oil all come off first. We take each part back to clean, sound base material, because a new finish is only as good as what sits underneath it.

Why Surface Profile Matters

Coatings Fail When the Prep Is Skipped

A finish is only as good as the surface underneath it. Spray over a smooth, oily, or previously coated part and that coating will chip, peel, and lift.

We abrasive-blast every part to a uniform surface profile so the coating grips mechanically, not just chemically. That one step is the difference between a finish that looks good on day one and one that still looks good years of hard use later.

Prep, Process & Turnaround

Do I need to prep or strip my parts before sending them?
No. We handle 100% of the prep, including inspection, stripping the old coating, and abrasive blasting for adhesion. Send your parts exactly as they are, coated, rusty, or raw.
Can you strip and recoat parts that are already finished?
Yes. Removing existing coatings, rust, oil, and contaminants is a standard part of our process before we re-prep and recoat the part.
Why is abrasive blasting (sometimes called sandblasting) so important?
It creates mechanical adhesion, a fine surface profile the coating can physically grip, so the finish bonds and lasts rather than relying on chemical adhesion alone.
Will the coating change the fit of close-tolerance parts?
Cerakote is a thin-film ceramic, roughly the thickness of a sheet of paper, so it keeps tolerances. We also mask threads and critical surfaces so the finish goes only where it should.
What finishes can you apply during this process?
The same workflow runs for Cerakote, powder coating, hydrographics, aviation, and mil-spec finishes. We match the base coat and cure schedule to the finish you choose.
How long does the whole process take?
It depends on the finish and the size of the run, but most projects ship within 5 to 10 business days. We confirm timing when we send your quote.
Do you handle single pieces as well as production runs?
Both. A single custom part and a 24/7 OEM production run go through the same disciplined steps and the same quality check.
Do you ship parts back to customers?
Yes. We serve customers across the United States and Canada and ship internationally to Europe and Asia.
